Coach Mike brings over four decades of coaching experience in gymnastics, having worked extensively across Canada, the United States, and the Bahamas. Throughout his career, he has successfully trained athletes to reach the national level, earning a reputation for excellence and dedication.
He is widely recognized for his positive and encouraging coaching style, fostering an environment where athletes are consistently challenged, motivated, and supported—all while having fun and building confidence.

With over 30 years of elite coaching experience, Chris is an NCCP Level 4 Certified Coach who has trained gymnasts at the Provincial, national and international levels. His coaching career spans over three decades of shaping athletes with a strong technical foundation, competitive excellence, and love for the sport.
Known for his calm, focused, and motivational coaching style, Chris creates an environment where gymnasts can thrive, building both skill and confidence. His dedication to long-term athlete development and high performance has earned him the respect of athletes, families, and fellow coaches across Canada and beyond.

Suzie Owen
Acro Coach
Suzie’s passion for gymnastics began at an early age, inspired by her aunt, an accomplished acrobat. Suzie began in acrobatic gymnastics before expanding her training to include classical ballet and artistic gymnastics.
A career-ending injury led Suzie to pursue coaching, allowing her to remain actively involved in the sport she loved. Over the past 40+ years, her contributions to gymnastics have been extensive, including coaching at both recreational and competitive levels, developing recreational adaptive programs, serving as a club program manager, meet director, event coordinator, team manager, as well as co-founding one of Ontario’s first acrobatic gymnastics programs.
Suzie has played a significant role in the growth and development of Acrobatic Gymnastics throughout Ontario and across Canada.
Dedicated to lifelong learning and excellence in coaching, she regularly participates in coaching congresses, educational seminars, training camps, and professional development opportunities across Ontario and the United States.
She currently serves as Acro Team Ontario Manager, Vice Chair of the Acrobatic Gymnastics Technical Committee for Gymnastics Ontario, and Program Assembly Chair of the Acrobatic Gymnastics Committee for Gymnastics Canada. She is also a certified coach in Acrobatic Gymnastics, Women’s Artistic Gymnastics (WAG), and Trampoline.
Suzie is the proud recipient of the Dr. Gene Sutton Award, which recognizes outstanding dedication, leadership, and contributions to the sport of gymnastics.
Rebecca M
Competitive Administrator & Coach
Rebecca has been coaching gymnastics for 25+ years and has coached in Ontario, Nova Scotia, Alberta, and British Columbia.
She has instructed all types of gymnastics levels from pre-school to competitive gymnasts ranging in ages from 18 months to older adults. She has gained a significant amount of leadership, communication, and competitive experience and has worked with many high-performance coaches who have provided guidance and knowledge with various aspects of gymnastics.
Rebecca has also judged women's artistic gymnastics (WAG), levels one to ten (JO Program modified), which has provided her with an in-depth knowledge of FIG standards and Codes for various levels of competition, as well as prepare her athletes mentally and technically for competition.
She has also instructed ski and snowboarding athletes for off season training, dancers, figure skaters, and divers who use gymnastics as an additional means to their sport specific training.

Theo Chan
Head Acro Coach
Coach Theo is a recently retired Canadian National Team senior level acrobatic gymnast. He was part of the first ever senior partnership from Canada to attend the Acrobatic Gymnastics World Championships held in Guimaraes, Portugal in 2024. Over the course of an 11 year long athletic career he attended numerous international competitions and events, competing at 3 Acro World Age Group Championships along with the Acro World Championships, which is reserved for the highest level senior athletes. At the 2025 Canadian Championships in Calgary, AB he was awarded the title of World Class Gymnast by FIG and GymCan, for his performance at the 2024 Acro World Championships. He also made an appearance on Canada’s Got Talent in 2022 where he was awarded a golden buzzer for his audition with his partner Mila.
Coach Theo has been teaching Acro for the past 5 years. He is very passionate about acrobatic gymnastics, working alongside many others to help develop the sport in Canada. Theo likes to take a positive, encouraging, and technical approach to teaching acro, teaching athletes how to work well with each other in partnerships using kind and encouraging words when speaking to each other, and guiding athletes to learn and take on leadership roles and responsibility. Acrobatic Gymnastics places a heavy emphasis on trust between partners, so Coach Theo creates an environment where athletes can trust each other, work hard, and have fun!

Jump Rope Coach
Canada’s Leading Jump Rope Training Expert
15X World Jump Rope Champion
Elvis Malcolm was first introduced to rope jumping through Jui Jitsu. Fascinated with the many possibilities of this simple tool, Elvis went on to become a pioneer and creator of many trademarked and intricate jump rope skills in the Sport of Jump Rope.
He has competed in 5 styles of rope jumping, winning over 25 National and 15 World Titles, and performed more than 4,000 shows in 20 different countries. He is recognized as one of the world’s greatest Jump Rope Artists.
Elvis has worked with many Olympic Athletes in the USA in 25 different sports along with Buddy Lee, using the Jump Rope as an effective sports cross training tool.
Today he is Canada’s Leading jump rope training expert, bringing more than 30 years of experience in the Sport of Jump Rope, and a proven system for success to our Canadian athletes.

Julia Cella
TAG Recreational Program Director & Coach
With over 10 years of dedicated coaching experience in gymnastics, Julia brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to TAG Performance Studio. Having a background in provincial level gymnastics as a former athlete, she has a proven track record of developing athletes from foundational skills through to competitive excellence.
She has spent over 5 years coaching Women’s Artistic Gymnastics (WAG) – from ODP to Compulsory Levels (up to Level 6), to Xcel Bronze, Silver, Gold – guiding athletes towards their competitive goal.
Whether it’s coaching the recreational classes, supervising for the recreational program, and/or coaching competitive trainings and competitions, her mission is to support the “whole athlete”. She creates a safe and fun environment for the athletes with a positive and encouraging attitude, while working on building their physical and emotional strength. She uses her education combined with experiences to build strong technical foundations while ensuring every gymnast feels supported and inspired to give their best effort.

Zoë Mitchell
Competitive & Recreational Coach
With 11 years of coaching experience, Zoë has worked with athletes of all ages and levels, from KinderGym through to competitive Xcel programs. Having trained in gymnastics for 10 years and developed a background in multiple sports, Zoë brings a well-rounded understanding of athletic development, movement, and the experiences that shape an athlete’s journey.
Zoë is NCCP Level 1 Women’s Artistic Gymnastics (WAG) and has attended the Ontario Gymnastics Congress for the past four years, continuing to expand her knowledge and stay current with best practices in gymnastics coaching. She is passionate about helping athletes develop strong foundations through strength and conditioning, mobility, and flexibility training, with a focus on building strong, confident, and resilient athletes.
Zoë is currently pursuing certifications as a Nutrition Coach and Youth Strength and Conditioning Coach through ISSA to further support her athletes’ development. She believes that physical preparation, injury prevention, and healthy mindset are important components of long-term athletic success.
Beyond skill development, Zoë prioritizes creating a supportive and positive training environment where athletes feel confident, valued, and empowered. She believes that coaching extends beyond gymnastics skills—it is about helping athletes develop confidence, resilience, and life skills that will benefit them both inside and outside of the gym.
Zoë is dedicated to building meaningful relationships with her athletes and supporting each individual as they work toward their goals while developing a lifelong love for sport and movement.
